Small Group Guide

Welcome

Icebreaker: What's a project you've worked on that would've been impossible to finish alone?

Read

Read Nehemiah 3:1-32.

Discuss

  1. What stands out to you about the different people involved in rebuilding the wall?

  2. Why do you think Nehemiah records so many names and specific assignments?

  3. What do we learn from the people who repaired the sections of the wall closest to their homes?

  4. How does this chapter challenge the idea that some people's contributions matter more than others?

  5. What's one way you could use your time, abilities, or resources to help “reach one more'“?

Practice

In Nehemiah 3, each person took responsibility for the work right in front of them.
What's one need you see in your family, church, workplace, or neighborhood that you could help meet?

Choose one practical way to serve and follow through.
It doesn't have to be big. Just find a need and do your part.

Share and Pray

In groups of 3–4, share a high, a low, and a “buffalo.” Pray together.

Close

Close by sharing who your “one more” is.
Pray together for an opportunity to share your faith with them in the near future.
