Small Group Guide

Welcome

Icebreaker: What’s something you’ve started that turned out to be harder than you expected?

Read

Read Nehemiah 4:1-23.

Discuss

  1. What kind of opposition confronts Nehemiah and the people as they rebuild?

  2. How do Nehemiah and the people respond to the opposition?

  3. What can we learn from how the people balance prayer, preparation, and action?

  4. Why do you think Nehemiah reminds the people who God is before telling them to keep fighting?

  5. What tends to discourage or distract you from following Jesus?

Practice

Think about an area of your life where doing the right thing has become difficult. Maybe it’s a relationship, a responsibility, or a step of obedience you’ve been avoiding.

This week, identify one thing you need to keep doing, even though it’s hard. Pray for God’s strength, then take one practical step to remain faithful.

Share and Pray

In groups of 3–4, share a high, a low, and a “buffalo.” Pray together.

Close

Close by sharing who your “one more” is.
Pray together for an opportunity to share your faith with them in the near future.
